Lake Adventures

Hello everyone!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of going out on an adventure. I was awoken at 5 AM, sleepily threw on a bathing suit and some clothes, and then headed off toward my destination. What was my destination? It was Lake Jocassee, South Carolina. This was my childhood lake- I remember being 4 or 5 and playing in the deep, cool waters while my parents looked at the waterfalls and bird-watched. I still enjoy swimming, but now I have a greater appreciation for the beautiful land and waters that make up Lake Jocassee. On my most recent trip, we were the only boat in sight in the early morning hours. The sun had just rose and the views were stunning. Even though it was chilly, I still had an amazing time. Needless to say, it was definitely worth waking up early on the weekend.

Sadie Jane Travels: Manatee Springs, FL

There is nothing quite as lovely as a trip to the beach. With the sun freckling your skin and the waves splashing at your feet, it brings about a happiness like no other. For spring break this year, I had the pleasure of camping in Manatee Springs State Park in Florida. Every day was an adventure. On Monday, we traveled over to the small coastal town of Cedar Key. We got to spend some time on the sandy beach and enjoy the quaint shops that lined the town's streets. The next day, my family and I went kayaking and canoeing down the Suwanee River. It bordered a nature preserve, so I got a glimpse of the beautiful swamps and wilderness of Florida. We even saw an alligator! On Wednesday, we got to swim in the springs. Although the water was a bit chilly, it was a stunning crystal-clear blue. I am already missing the sunny days, s'mores, and smiles that this spring break has brought me, and I can't wait for the next one.

One of my favorite pieces that I packed was my high-neck bathing suit from Aerie! It is comfortable, cute, and classic. Unfortunately, it is sold out on the Aerie website, but you can buy an almost identical one from Free People. Although I love the simple black top, I think that their lavender and pale pink versions are adorable! The fit is really flattering and I'm glad that I brought it on my vacation.
