Freckles & Fashion is One Year Old!

Hello Everyone! I am so happy to say that today is my blog's first birthday! Not only was it incredible to write for you all, but it was also incredible to know that you are out there reading. Thank you all so much for always checking in, whether it be on InstagramTumblr, or Pinterest. I cannot thank all of my viewers enough for always reading, and I can't wait to see what this new year with you will hold. I wanted to look back on some of my most popular posts from the past year.

This blog post was written when I was on a beach vacation last August. It was such a fun trip and I miss relaxing by the pool with my family.

The last week in July I took a road trip up to Wisconsin. It was very spontaneous and fun, and can't wait to return to the gorgeous Great Lakes.

Last fall my family and I went on a hike in Max Patch, and the view was breathtaking. It was such a fun time, even though it was chilly!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, whether it be making my own costume or getting all of that candy. Last year my friends and I went trick or treating together and it was such a fun and spooky experience. I'm glad that I got to spend Halloween with Kim Possible, the Devil, and a 60's chick.

The last post that I am going to talk about is my December Overview. I talked about searching for a Christmas tree, attending Christmas parties, and my new bean boots.

Thank you all so much for reading and celebrating with me! Pineapples over party hats, right?

I can't wait to see what this next year will hold.

XOXO,
Sadie

Sadie Jane Travels: Port St. Joe, FL: Part 2

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to talk about some great places to eat and visit if you are ever in Port St. Joe. While we were there, we regularly dropped in for a donut or an ice cream at these adorable food stands. My dad was a huge fan of the fried chicken restaurant, too. There was even a secluded beach in the area, which was great for shell hunting. If you ever visit this amazing little town, be sure to check out these locations!

Right outside of the state park is an incredible donut stand called Weber's Little Donut Shop. This stand is run by a couple that wakes up early in the morning to make donuts, and they sell them for a great price. My family and I regularly woke up early to stop by and get a dozen before they sold out. My personal favorites were the glazed and the sprinkled.

Right next to the donut shop is a perfect place to get coffee to go along with your morning snack. The Cape San Blas Coffee & Ice Cream Shop has a variety of coffee drinks, smoothies, and ice cream treats. I personally love their Full Moon Latte, which has hazelnut and vanilla flavoring. If you're looking for something on the ice cream side, their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Milkshake is delicious!

Another place my family loved is Smiley's Fried Chicken. It has a variety of different plates and sides, my favorite being the dinner plate with sides of macaroni & cheese and fried okra. We stopped by their little shack on our way out of town, and ate the meals in our car. Needless to say, I could really go for some of that fried okra right now!

Another amazing place to get ice cream is Shoobies Frozen Treats. I never tried their famous Jersey Gelato, because I was too tempted by their Jimmies. A Jimmy is basically soft serve ice cream covered in sprinkles. It was delicious, but in the Florida heat, it melted fast!

The last place I'm going to talk about is the amazing secluded beach within Port St. Joe State Park. You have to get a permit to visit here, but it was definitely worth it. The beach was virtually empty, so we were able to relax and shell hunt in peace. It was so beautiful and I wish I could've gotten more pictures!

I would also like to wish my beautiful mom a happy birthday! I can't wait to see where the next year of your life leads you.

Lastly, I would like to wish my amazing dad an amazing Fathers Day! Thanks for always being there for me and taking blog pictures, even if you don't really want to. Love you bunches.❤️

XOXO,
Sadie

Sadie Jane Travels: Port St. Joe, FL: Part 1

Recently, My family and I took a trip to Port St. Joe, Florida. Port St. Joe is located about an hour away from Panama City, but it isn't nearly as crowded and commercialized. We were camping in the state park located right outside of the town, and the scenery was incredible. During our stay, we hung out on the beautiful white sand, shell hunted, and even kayaked. It was a truly amazing experience and I can't wait to do it again. While kayaking, I was able to film some wildlife using the GoPro camera. You can find the footage at the bottom of this post or on Youtube. This post will come in two parts, so keep an eye out for part 2!

Stay on the lookout for Part 2 of this post!

XOXO,
Sadie

Kicking Off Summer

Hello everyone! By the time you are reading this, I'll be out of school! Eighth grade has been an amazing year, but I'm so glad that it's finally summer break. This weekend I was able to visit my cousin's pool and the weather was amazing. We swam, tanned, and (best of all) played around with my new GoPro Camera, which my friend and I were fortunate enough to win through a national video contest (see my winning entry here). I made a short video with the GoPro footage that you can find at the bottom of this post or on Youtube. I had an amazing time and I can't wait to visit again!
